This painting is a little love letter to Hornby Island, a place where I’ve gathered so many wonderful memories. Nestled in the Salish Sea, Hornby Island is famous for its gorgeous beaches, amazing marine life, and a super chill vibe that makes work feel like a distant memory.

I’ve collected various bits and pieces from the island and brought them together in this outdoor still life. Every item has a story—whether it’s a shell from a morning beach walk or a piece of driftwood from an afternoon of exploring.

Hornby Island is my ultimate escape. No matter how hard I try to be productive there, it’s just impossible. The island’s beauty and tranquility always win, making me kick back, relax, and soak in nature.
