In "The Chicken in Black," the remnants of a lively night with friends, dice, poker chips, and a cigar hint at the stories and laughter shared during the evening.

The crow, with its mischievous glint, embodies the spirit of the trickster—a charming rogue who knows all the best secrets and isn’t afraid to stir up a bit of fun. Crows are symbols of intelligence and cunning, and this one seems to have enjoyed the night's antics as much as any of the players.

When I posted a video of this piece on social media, I came across Johnny Cash's song "The Chicken in Black." The song humorously tells the story of a brain transplant gone awry, leading to unexpected and quirky consequences. Much like the song, my painting captures the whimsical and unexpected nature of life. The crow, much like the "chicken in black," finds itself in a setting where it doesn’t quite belong, yet it thrives, bringing unique charm and mischief to the scene.

It’s a reminder that life’s best moments are often filled with a touch of chaos and a lot of laughter. I hope this painting brings a smile to your face and evokes memories of your own nights filled with fun and games.
