A Dawn Drive
18” x 36”, Acrylic and Oil on Canvas
This painting captures an early morning drive east on Highway 1 in Vancouver, with Mount Baker standing prominently in the distance. The soft, warm light of sunrise begins to spill over the horizon, painting the sky with subtle hues of pink, orange, and blue.
In this piece, I wanted to convey the quiet anticipation of a new day, where the stillness of the road contrasts with the grandeur of the snow-capped mountain ahead. The composition draws the viewer into the scene, following the curve of the highway toward the glowing peaks. This painting reflects the simple moments of peace found in nature during a dawn drive.
