"After the Rain" captures a view of Two Jack Lake near Banff, Alberta. The rain was still falling on the lake as the clouds began to part, letting brilliant sunlight break through. I wanted to preserve that fleeting moment when light and rain coexist, creating a striking contrast.

To bring the scene to life, I focused on the water’s reflections and the subtle, shifting light. The painting emphasizes the blues, greens, and earthy tones of the landscape, aiming to evoke a sense of calm and connection to nature. For me, this piece is about finding beauty in the quiet moments after a storm, when the world feels renewed and full of possibility.
