This painting captures the iconic view down Banff Avenue toward Cascade Mountain in Banff, Alberta, during the vibrant colors of fall. The town’s inviting charm is framed by the rich reds, golds, and oranges of autumn. I have a particular fondness for road paintings, and the main drag in Banff, with its striking interplay of light and shadow, felt like the perfect subject.

In this piece, I focused on the contrast between the shadowed foreground and the brilliantly lit background to bring vibrancy to the scene, highlighting the contrast of cool and warm tones. By blending elements of realism and impressionism, I aimed to capture both the warm energy of the town and the breathtaking natural beauty of the Rockies.
