This scene is from Waterfowl Lakes along the Icefields Parkway in Alberta. I was drawn to the way the still water perfectly mirrored everything around it, creating a peaceful and almost surreal atmosphere. I wanted to capture the striking contrast between the bold red of the canoe and the muted colours of the landscape, adding another layer of depth to the painting.
