Golden Hour Serenade

36” x 60”, Oil on canvas

"Golden Hour Serenade" showcases the Three Sisters mountains near Canmore, Alberta, bathed in the soft, golden light of sunset. These iconic peaks—known individually as Big Sister, Middle Sister, and Little Sister—are among the most recognizable landmarks of the Canadian Rockies. They hold significant cultural meaning, particularly for the Stoney Nakoda First Nation, who refer to them as the "Three Nuns" due to their resemblance to hooded figures.

In this painting, I focused on the interplay of light and shadow across the snow-covered peaks and the warm tones of the surrounding forest. This large-scale piece invites viewers to experience the stillness and grandeur of the Rockies during the fleeting moments of golden hour.
